This Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels thus producing a full bodied wine with an elegant nose and intense aromas of fresh red fruits combined with spicy notes. The Alexander Valley Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon exibits black berry, black cherry and licorice aromas and flavors, which are characteristic of this regions wines. Aging for 17 months in oak barrels has also contributed layers of mocha and vanilla. This wine is wonderful with an aged ribeye, lamb roast or pasta dishes with red sauce. To retain its character, only light filtration occured and therefore sediment may appear as it ages. Mevushal
